airasia Super App under Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia Group) and CGS-CIMB Securities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to collaborate on making equity trading and investing more accessible and affordable for everyone, especially the non-investors.
This initiative is in line with the Securities Commission Malaysia Capital Market Masterplan 3, which aims to empower investors in building a better future by offering quality investment advice and technologically enhanced capabilities to meet rapidly evolving customer needs.
As brands with a proven track record of providing products and services that Southeast Asian customers can trust, airasia Super App and CGS-CIMB Securities will combine their respective strengths to democratise capital market offerings for the masses by making it accessible, affordable, and digitally inclusive.
Similar to how airasia has made air travel possible for the wider Southeast Asian population, this collaboration aims to bring capital market investment to the public by leveraging the best of CGS-CIMB Securities and Capital A’s consumer insights and disruptive strategies. Borrowing from airasia’s tagline, the vision is “now, everyone can invest.”
airasia Super App’s Chief Fintech Officer, Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil said, “We are very excited about this partnership with CGS-CIMB Securities, and truly believe it bodes well with our ethos of providing services that are inclusive, affordable and accessible. We believe we will be able to provide the common man with the best financial services that have largely been available to the limited few in society, and live up to our mission of serving the underserved.”
Ruzi Rani Ajith, CGS-CIMB Securities’ Chief Executive Officer said, “We are equally excited with partnering airasia Super App, capitalising on CGS-CIMB Securities’s investment-as-a-service model. With over 40 years of experience in Asia, we have evolved from being a pure play traditional broker to being a trusted financial solutions provider for not only institutional clients but also for the man in the street. With our focus on ESG, we will level the playing field by providing financial literacy courses so that as “everyone can invest”, they do so with knowledge and wisdom. Ultimately, we want to create investment opportunities for those who would otherwise be left behind, with a platform that is simple to use and affordable.”
